RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Online grocer Relay Foods is planning to invest more than $710,000 to expand its operations in Richmond, creating 75 jobs.
Gov. Terry McAuliffe says the expansion of Relay Foods’ fulfillment center accommodates increased local demand and supports its entry into new markets.
The company also plans to increase its sales of Virginia-sourced meats, produce, dairy products and other foods by $3 million over the next three years.
Relay Foods integrates more than 200 local farmers and producers to deliver foods and groceries directly to customers. It will invest in updates to its primary warehouse, as well as a new warehouse to be built in 2016.
McAuliffe approved a $50,000 grant from the Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development Fund for the project.
