WHAT’S AT STAKE
Ole Miss tries to stay undefeated before a difficult October that includes conference games against Alabama, Texas A&M and LSU. Memphis hopes to end a five-game losing streak to the Rebels which dates back to 2004.
KEY MATCHUP
Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace vs. the Memphis defense. Wallace leads the nation with a 75.5 pass completion percentage and has thrown for 1,023 yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions. The Tigers’ defense has already had trouble with one of the nation’s other elite quarterbacks: UCLA’s Brett Hundley completed 33 of 44 passes for 396 yards and three touchdowns in the Bruins’ 42-35 win over Memphis on Sept. 6.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Memphis: LB Tank Jakes. The 5-foot-11, 227-pound senior has been one of the nation’s most productive defensive players this season with 27 tackles, including nine for a loss and four sacks in three games.
Mississippi: CB Senquez Golson. The entire Ole Miss secondary has been good in September and leads the Southeastern Conference with eight interceptions through three games. Golson has three of them, and the senior has turned into one of the team’s best cornerbacks.

Memphis is off to its best start since 2004, which is also the last time the Tigers beat the Rebels. Danny Wimprine threw for 266 yards and DeAngelo Williams rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown in that 20-13 victory. … Memphis has lost 13 straight games to nationally ranked opponents. … The Tigers rank 25th nationally and lead the American Athletic Conference with 242.7 rushing yards per game. … Ole Miss is trying to start the season with a 4-0 record for the first time since 1970. … The Rebels have scored 132 points through three games, which is the most since scoring 145 in 1935.
