ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin and Rep. Chris Van Hollen are lauding a Montgomery County program that teaches veteran-owned businesses how to get federal contracts.
The event Monday in Rockville recognizes the Veteran Institute for Procurement.
The three-day program is sponsored by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation. The foundation recently received a $900,000 federal grant to expand it.
The program has trained nearly 350 people from 29 states.
