Idaho State sails by Sacramento State, 44-24

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Justin Arias threw for 413 yards and 2 touchdowns and Madison Mangum had a career-high 174 yards receiving with a touchdown to help Idaho State beat Sacramento State, 44-24, on Saturday.

Xavier Finney added 135 yard rushing and 3 touchdowns for the Bengals (2-2, 1-0 Big Sky), whose defense created three turnovers, including two interceptions.

After an 11-yard touchdown pass from Garrett Safron to DeAndre Carter gave Sacramento State (3-2, 0-1) a 7-3 late in the first quarter, Idaho State reeled off 21 in the second, including a 35-yard touchdown pass from Mangum to KW Williams, on a trick play, to take the lead for good.

Carter tied a school record with 14 catches in the game for 158 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Hornets. Safron finished with 382 yards and three touchdowns. The teams combined for over 1100 yards of total offense.
