Cato leads Marshall over Ohio 44-14

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Rakeem Cato completed 17 of 29 passes for 425 yards and four touchdowns, including a 77-yard third-quarter bomb to Angelo Jean-Louis, and Marshall smashed Ohio 44-14 on Saturday.

The 77-yard strike was Cato’s 100th career touchdown pass, joining Chad Pennington as the only Marshall quarterbacks to reach that plateau.

Jean-Louis finished with 158 yards receiving and Davonte Allen added 137 more for the Thundering Herd (3-0), who racked up 705 yards of total offense and scored the first 41 points of the game.

The Bobcats (1-2) did not get onto the scoreboard until late in the third quarter, when quarterback Derrius Vick found Sebastian Smith from 7 yards out. Vick had 200 yards passing, a touchdown, and an interception for Ohio.

The win snaps a three-game losing streak for the Thundering Herd against the Bobcats.
