And teaches us some life lessons. Here\'s what we\'ve learned from \"Mary Poppins.\"
Previous
Love to Laugh
Even if you sound like a deranged person, laugh as much as you can.
Feed the Birds
This song is about a poor woman who spends her day feeding the birds, while the rich people at the bank next door can't be bothered. In order words, give a little.
Equality Comes First
This one should speak for itself. But in case you need reminding, look how excited Mrs. Banks is after returning from a universal suffrage rally.
Picture Where You Want to Be
And go there. Don't like your job? Find a new one. Always wanted to visit another country? Book a trip! The lesson here is simple: if you don't like something in your life, change it.
If You Want Something...
... take it. Mary Poppins didn't let a line of nannies get in her way. Instead, she just bulldozed the competition.
Go Fly A Kite
And spend some time with your children, even when work is crazy. They're really quite fun.
Believe in Magic
Magic might not involve crystal balls and flying witches. It could be as something as a beautiful sunset or winning a race. Start believing in simple magic, and learn to enjoy life a little more.
Look on the Bright Side
His British accent might be atrocious, but that doesn't stop Dick Van Dyke from enjoying his job as a chimney sweep.
A Spoonful of Sugar
This particular lesson applies to almost any situation. When life gives you lemons...
Practically Perfect
So remember to listen to Mary Poppins because she is, in fact, "practically perfect in every way."
