WASHINGTON — Could the decriminalization of marijuana in D.C. lead to renaming the area’s famous group of museums the “Smithstonian”?
While it’s doubtful, it was one of the jokes Jimmy Fallon made Tuesday during “The Tonight Show.”
During a segment called “Pros and Cons,” Fallon poked fun at both sides of the D.C. marijuana debate.
A new law in D.C. replaces criminal penalties for possession of one ounce of pot with a $25 civil fine.
D.C. police want to remind residents that smoking in public, possession of more than one ounce or selling marijuana remain criminal offenses.
