BALTIMORE (AP) — School officials in Baltimore are increasing security at a high school due to rising tensions between black and Latino students.
Police have increased patrols at Digital Harbor High School in Federal Hill following a fight and an assault last week. Parents were called to a meeting Tuesday night with police and school officials to discuss the situation.
Some parents say they have kept their children home from school over the security worries.
Police say they will maintain increased patrols around the school until the end of the school year.
School officials released a statement saying they are working with students, parents and community partners “to reinforce the expectation that students treat each other with respect.”
