RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is the scheduled special guest for former Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling’s 20th annual “Burgers with Bill” event.
Romney is set to attend the cookout Tuesday in Glen Allen.
Billing has remained active in state politics since leaving elected office earlier this year.
He donated $15,000 to the Republican Party of Virginia in May to underwrite an overhaul of the party’s website and other technological infrastructure prior to November’s election.
Bolling was outmuscled in his expected bid for governor in 2012 by conservative supporters of Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, who lost in the general election.
Newly minted Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ed Gillespie is also scheduled to be at the event.
