WASHINGTON — Lionel Richie received the lifetime achievement award at the BET Awards Sunday night, but when his name came up on the screen acknowledging his success, it was spelled wrong.
The star’s name was spelled “Lionel Ritchie” during the broadcast, USA TODAY reports.

The BET Awards’ Twitter account retweeted fans offering their congratulations to Richie. All of the tweets spelled his name correctly.
