WASHINGTON — Facebook announced Thursday that it’s starting to use app and website data from your browsing habits to provide ads tailored to your interests — but there is a way to limit how much information Facebook can retrieve.
Tech news site, Gizmodo points out that “just because you’re getting some new (and highly necessary) controls over how Facebook shares your data doesn’t mean it’s going to stop collecting the data in the first place.”
The new feature is opt-out, but you need to go to the Digital Advertising Alliance website to make that happen.

Facebook’s new efforts will provide advertisers with the information required to target Facebook ads more directly. The feature will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
