NEW YORK (AP) — D.C. United forward Fabian Espindola was suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount by Major League Soccer on Friday for violent conduct toward Montreal Impact midfielder Felipe Martins.
The incident came in the 30th minute of United’s 4-2 road victory June 11.
MLS also fined Portland Timbers midfielder Maximiliano Urruti an undisclosed amount for simulation late in a 2-2 home tie against FC Dallas on June 11. Dallas assistant coach Josema Bazan was suspended for two games — one game for his dismissal and one additional game by the league — and also was fined an undisclosed amount for his actions involving a fan in the game at Portland.
