WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals released their eight-game preseason schedule for 2014-15 on Thursday. Washington will host four preseason games at Verizon Center, beginning on Sunday, Sept. 21 against the Buffalo Sabres.
The Capitals will face five Eastern Conference opponents in preseason play, with two meetings each against the Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins.
All eight of Washington’s preseason games are expected to be played in NHL arenas with four road games scheduled for Philadelphia, Boston, Montreal and Buffalo.
Select preseason games will air on WFED 1500AM and online at www.wfed.com.
The NHL is expected to announce regular-season home openers for all 30 teams on Saturday, with the full 2014-15 schedule to be released on Sunday afternoon.
Below is a look at the Caps’ preseason schedule:
- Sun., Sept. 21: vs. Buffalo Sabres, 5 p.m.
- Mon., Sept. 22: at Philadelphia Flyers, 7 p.m.
- Wed., Sept. 24: at Boston Bruins, 7 p.m.
- Fri., Sept. 26: vs. Boston Bruins, 7 p.m.
- Sun., Sept. 28: at Montreal Canadiens, 6 p.m.
- Wed., Oct. 1: at Buffalo Sabres, 7 p.m.
- Thurs., Oct. 2: vs. Philadelphia Flyers, 7 p.m.
- Sun., Oct. 5: vs. Carolina Hurricanes, 3 p.m.
