Va. church song mentioning water precedes break

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Members of a Harrisonburg church didn’t know they were being prophetic when they sang a song that mentioned water hours before a main broke near the building.

The Daily News-Record (http://bit.ly/RGubMP ) says the song sung Sunday at Asbury Methodist Church includes the lyrics, “Asbury Church is falling down, Water is seeping through the ground.” The song is about the church’s new capital campaign, sung to the tune of “Jesus Loves Me.”

Several hours later, church leaders saw water bubbling up from the street next to the church due to a water main break.

Cynthia Hay, the wife of senior pastor Steve Hay, and her son, Elliottt, removed rock and debris over a sewer grate to prevent the water from running down the slope into the church’s education building.
