WASHINGTON — The D.C. police say they’ve arrested a youth in connection with two carjackings and three robberies — all committed on Wednesday.
According to the police, a woman was thrown out of her car as she was entering it shortly before 3 p.m. in the 3700 black of Northampton Street, in Northwest.
Then at about 8 p.m., a woman was knocked to the ground and robbed in the 3200 block of Oliver Street, also in Northwest.
At about 9:30 p.m., a man was punched and robbed in the 1800 block of Kearney Street, in Northweast. About 15 minutes later, a woman was pepper-sprayed and robbed in the 3100 block of 10th Street in Northeast.
And at 10 p.m., a woman was approached by two men on Van Buren Street, in Northwest, who threatened her and took her car.
The police say that after an investigation by detectives from the Second, Fourth and Fifth Districts, a juvenile male was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with two counts of carjacking and three counts of robbery – force and violence.
Both cars were recovered, the police say.
