WASHINGTON –Police are investigating complaints that one of their officers pulled a gun on a bunch of youth building a tree fort in a Georgia subdivision.
According to local WSB-TV Atlanta news, fifth- grader Omari Grant of Henry County, told his mother that he and his friends were confronted by two officers — one with a gun drawn — and then were forced to lay down on the ground, legs spread — all because a neighbor had called to complain that the boys were cutting down tree branches, and that the activity could be unsafe.
Grant, 11, admitted that he and his friends often play in a wooded area behind his home and were cutting down branches to build a fort.
“I was thinking that I don’t want to be shot today, so I just listened to what they said,” Omari said.
