WASHINGTON — A skit has been canceled at an unknown Prince George’s County elementary school after a parent said it was offensive to immigrants.
The skit, called “The Uninvited Guest,” was for third-graders learning about immigration. It tells the story of Uncle Sam, who welcomes guests to a party if they’ve lived in the country all their lives. In the skit, those without visas were told they weren’t welcome.
A county school official tells The Washington Post that the skit was dropped, and the teacher was told it was “inappropriate.”
