It won’t be long before Home Depot Inc. replaces snow blowers with lawn mowers, which means the home improvement chain is ramping up hiring for its busiest season.
The Atlanta-based company says it will hire more than 80,000 seasonal employees for its spring season, including 750 for its Washington area stores.
Home Depot has more than two-dozen stores in the Washington region.
While the 80,000 jobs are seasonal, some of them will become full-time positions.
Home Depot (NYSE: HD) considers the seasonal work a good fit for students, retirees, veterans and reservists. It has an online military skills translator that can match military skills to store positions.
Home Depot has 340,000 employs at its nearly 2,000 stores in the U.S., according to Bloomberg data.
