WASHINGTON – Police have identified the body of a woman found on a golf course in Anne Arundel County on Jan. 22.
A man walking his dog discovered Diana Kapnistos Hester’s body near the 15th hole tee box at Bay Hills Golf Club in Arnold, Anne Arundel County police say.
The man was walking shortly after 7 a.m. on Wednesday when he saw what he thought was clothing, but it turned out to be the 49-year-old Maryland woman, police say.
Her body was lying in the snow and had no obvious signs of trauma or gave any immediate indication of ‘foul play,’ police say in a news release.
Hester’s body was taken to the medical examiner’s office in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident and anyone who had contact with Hester in the last 24 hours to contact them at 410-222-3458.
“It’s really odd. It’s unusal. we’re going to look at all possibilities,” Anne Arundel County police spokesman Justin Mulcahy tells WTOP.
The body was found near where people had been sledding on Tuesday.
