Gansler Goes On The Attack

Attorney General and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Doug Gansler is attacking opponent Anthony Brown for “mismanaging” the rollout of the Affordable Care Act in the state.

Lt. Gov. Brown took a lead role in coordinating the state’s Maryland Health Connection insurance exchange, which has gone through technical difficulties similar to the federal health exchange and those in some other states.

The web-only ad includes a series of internet searches, one titled “Lt. Governor Anthony Brown and The Affordable Care Act,” in an attempt to tie Brown, who was co-chair of the state’s Health Reform Coordinating Council, to the glitchy rollout of the website.

Brown campaign officials have countered Gansler and running mate Jolene Ivey sound a lot like Republicans criticizing President Barack Obama for the federal healthcare exchange rollout.

Gansler, Brown and Del. Heather Mizeur (D-Takoma Park) are all vying for the June 2014 gubernatorial nomination.
