WASHINGTON – Metro says the Silver Line is set to open in mid-February, but Fairfax County Supervisor and Metro board member Cathy Hudgins says that it might come sooner than that.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority gives Metro control of the line on Nov. 19. Metro says that they need 90 days of training and testing, but Hudgins says “We hope the 90-day window will shrink.”
That could mean that the first phase of the Silver Line, running through Tysons Corner and to Wiehle Avenue, may start in early February, or even sooner.
