WASHINGTON – When picking a winner in a fight between a mouse and a scorpion, most people would probably pick the scorpion.
But that might not always be the best bet, according to this video obtained by The Washington Post.
The footage shows southern grasshopper mice handling their business against (i.e., killing and eating) Arizona bark scorpions. The mice aren’t affected by the insects’ venom, and those used in the trial were monitored and later released back into Arizona’s Santa Rita Mountains.
