WASHINGTON – If you are in the market to buy a house, you can see a virtual tour and online pictures of properties. But if you want to rent, there hasn’t been many viewing options until now.
While hundreds of rental websites list properties, there is often little information about what makes one apartment better than another. However, signing a lease on a new apartment might be less stressful with the help of a new apartment rating and review service.
It’s called RentMatch.com, and it’s launching in a dozen cities, including the District. The site aims to offer reviews, pictures and points to ponder before you pick up that pen.
The Seattle-based company wants to be the Trip Advisor for renters. RentMatch plans to partner with rental listing websites and send them leads similar to the way Trip Advisor gives leads to Expedia or Priceline.
