Labor Day Weekend in D.C. The 25th Annual D.C. Blues Festival
Back for its 25th year, the D.C. Blues Society will host its annual festival on Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Carter Barron Amphitheater in Rock Creek Park. The free event includes seven and a half hours of musical performances on the main stage, as well as interactive demonstrations on the workshop stage, which is packed with kid-friendly activities. Labor Day in Maryland Labor Day Art Show at Glen Echo
The work from more than 250 artists will be on display at Glen Echo Park Aug. 31 through Sept. 2. The exhibition is free, and most work will be for sale. The fourth annual pie-making contest from Central Farm Markets is happening Sept. 1. Sweet and savory pies will be judged and dished out to a hungry crowd.
