Schools To Get Security Cameras, Security Gateways — The County Council on Tuesday approved $9 million in funding that will put exterior and interior security cameras in many schools and pay for improvements to school buildings so that visitors will check in at an administration office before they access the rest of the school. Most elementary schools do not have cameras yet. [The Gazette]

Lee Could Have Competition For State Senate Spot — Reggie Oldak, the director of government relations for the National Women’s Law Center, said she is considering running for State Sen. Brian Frosh’s seat as Frosh pursues the Democratic nomination for attorney general. Del. Susan Lee is the other known candidate for the Senate seat. [Bethesda Magazine]

White Flint Building Nears Completion, Starts Leasing Next Year — Developer LCOR recently celebrated the topping out of its 18-story apartment building under construction at Old Georgetown Road and Nebel Street.
