WASHINGTON – Baseball players shouldn’t be as hard to recognize as football players out of uniform. After all, they don’t have to deal with the anonymity a helmet and facemask provide on the field.
So maybe the reason New York Mets ace Matt Harvey is unknown to some on the streets of the Big Apple is that he hasn’t been in the big leagues all that long. Or that he doesn’t play every day. Or that when he appeared in ESPN The Magazine’s “Body Issue,” people didn’t pay much attention to his face.
Whatever the cause, baseball fans in New York struggled to realize the MLB All-Star Game starter was the one interviewing them in a stunt set up by late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon’s crew.
