WASHINGTON – A staff member at an Alexandria high school is under investigation for having inappropriate contact with students.
Alexandria schools Superintendent Morton Sherman said Monday that the T.C. Williams High School staff member has resigned and that Alexandria police are now investigating.
The high school also sent a note to parents alerting them to the probe, Sherman’s statement said.
“We want our families to know that the administration will not tolerate any misconduct or inappropriate behavior between staff and students and will do all possible to keep it out of our classrooms,” Sherman said in the statement.
ABC 7 reports that the letter sent to parents stated that on Friday two students reported that a male teacher was engaging in “inappropriate relations” with female students.
A school investigation uncovered enough details to remove the teacher from the school, ABC 7 reported.
The teacher’s name has not been released.
