OFFICIAL RULES
1. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. In order to enter, from Monday May 27 through midnight June 23, 2013, go to the www.wtop.com website, click on the “Contest” icon under the living section of the navigation bar, click on the “Pure Leaf” icon and enter the contest by emailing the answers to the “Pure or False” news trivia questions to contests@wtop.com. Must be at least 21 years of age to enter. WTOP is not responsible for problems accessing the website or completing the entry, technical or atmospheric conditions that disrupt the completion of the entry, or any other problems which might or might not result from this contest. Any person submitting more than one entry may be disqualified.
2. HOW TO PLAY/HOW THE WINNER IS CHOSEN: Enter as explained in Paragraph 1 above. On or before June 26, 2013, from all eligible entries received, one entry will be randomly drawn at the WTOP Studios to be the winner of this sweepstakes. Two entries will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries as the runners up. The winners will be notified by telephone and/or email.
3. PRIZE: There will be one (1) grand prize and (2) two runner up prizes awarded in this sweepstakes. The grand prize winner will receive the following:
Trip for two persons (winner and 1 guest) to New York, NY departing from a Baltimore/DC regional airport (airport, carrier and itinerary selected by Pure Leaf) on Friday October 18, 2013 returning Sunday October 20, 2013; one double occupancy standard hotel room for two (hotel selected by Pure Leaf) for 2 (two) nights, ground transportation to and from the airport in New York, to the hotel and any Pure Leaf Scheduled events in New York, two (2) tickets to the New York City Wine and Food Festival, two (2) Pure Leaf gift bags, and $200 in spending money. Estimated retail value is up to $2,250 depending upon winner’s point of travel origin. All other expenses not specifically mentioned herein are solely the responsibility of prizewinner. All travel must be taken on dates specified; no alternative travel dates are available. All travel subject to availability and restrictions. Winner and travel guest must travel on same itinerary. Winner and travel guest must be 21 years of age or older. Winner and travel guest must possess all necessary documentation required for air travel (e.g., valid photo identification). If Grand Prize winner resides in close proximity to New York City, ground transportation may be substituted for air transportation at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Unused travel will be forfeited. All other expenses not specifically mentioned herein (including but not limited to taxes, personal charges, meals, tips, gratuities, room service charges, any additional costs charged to the room, and other incidental expenses) are solely the responsibility of prize winner. Travel guest will be required to sign a travel release before any travel occurs. No responsibility is assumed by WTOP, Track Marketing Group, or Pepsi/Lipton Tea Partnership for any concert or related event that is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled in whole or in part for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation, any force majeure event such as hurricane, fire, flood, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, war, insurrection, or terrorist threat. In the event of such cancellation, neither WTOP, Track Marketing Group, or Pepsi/Lipton Tea Partnership shall have any further liability or obligation to winner. (ERV: $2,250.00)
Two (2) runners up will each get one (1x) Samsung Wifi Enabled Cameras, one $50 William Sonoma Gift Card,and Pure Leaf Branded drinking glasses. Approximate value of runner up prize: $250
A qualified winner must also meet the eligibility requirements as set forth in Paragraph 5 of these rules. The winner is responsible for paying all applicable income taxes. A 1099 form may be submitted to all appropriate taxing authorities, and by signing the Prize Release and affidavit, each winner accepts the prize, and even if the winner does not use the prize/trip, he/she will be responsible for the applicable taxes.
4. CLAIMING A PRIZE: Once the winner has completed the prize verification process, the grand prize winner and guest must fill out a Pure Leaf travel affidavit and release form. All prizes, unless otherwise stated or arranged, must be claimed at the WTOP studios at 3400 Idaho Avenue NW Washington DC 20016. The WTOP offices are open 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. WTOP is not responsible for problems resulting from listeners traveling to the station, or the sending of any prizes to the winner’s home The winner must prove he or she is a qualified winner by presenting identification acceptable to WTOP (e.g., state drivers license; state issued identification card; valid passport with address verification; or birth certificate with social security card and photo identification and address verification). If the winner cannot prove he or she is a qualified winner, the prize will not be awarded. All unclaimed prizes remain the property of WTOP. Prizes will not be issued to winners unless a social security number is presented.
5. ELIGIBILITY: Individuals must be 21 years or older and legal residents of Virginia, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia in order to participate in this contest. In order to be eligible to win a prize in this contest, you cannot have won any prize or combination of prizes with a total stated value of $600.00 or more from WTOP within 365 days prior to the awarding of a prize to you in this contest. These restrictions apply even if you reject the prize. Employees of Hubbard Radio Washington, LLC, Hubbard Radio, LLC, WTOP, Pepsi/Lipton Tea partnership, its bottlers, each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, suppliers, or other radio stations in WTOP’s DMA, or any of their subsidiaries, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter. Anyone participating in this contest or claiming a prize in this contest in violation of these rules will be disqualified from winning a prize in this contest and from participating in WTOP contests for a period of one year.
6. RELEASE; CONSENT TO USE LIKENESS, VOICE AND ADDRESS: The winner must execute an affidavit of eligibility. The winner (a) agrees to release Hubbard Radio, LLC, Hubbard Radio Washington, LLC, Pepsi/Lipton Tea Partnership, its bottlers (including their subsidiaries, affiliates, parent or related companies) from any and all liability, claims, damages and actions arising directly or indirectly out of or sustained in connection with the awarding or acceptance of the prize(s), and/or misuse of any prize, or to participation in the contest or in prize-related activities, including any travel related thereto, and (b) consents to the use by WTOP for promotional purposes, of his or her likeness or voice (and/or address (city/state) without any additional compensation. By participating in this contest, each participant agrees to the application of these official rules. By accompanying the winner, the winner’s guest agrees to be bound by the terms of these official rules, including the preceding release.
7. WINNER LIST: For the name of the winner, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope before June 30, 2013 to Winners List, Pure Leaf Sweepstakes, WTOP, 3400 Idaho Avenue N.W., Washington, D. C. 20016.
8. MISCELLANEOUS:
Decisions of WTOP concerning any and all matters with respect to this contest shall be final. Contest void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. WTOP reserves the right to change the prize values at any time. WTOP is not responsible for printing errors in the contest materials or these rules. WTOP reserves the right to change these rules, as well as the terms and conditions of this contest, without notice.
