WASHINGTON – This weekend, several notable concert venues won’t feature music, but comedy and spoken word events.
Scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Warner Theatre, boxing legend Mike Tyson brings his one-man show, “Undisputed Truth” to the stage. A national tour of the on-stage memoir was announced after a successful string of dates on Broadway and in Las Vegas.
Also scheduled for Friday at DAR Constitution Hall, Fox News pundit Bill O’Reilly joins comic Dennis Miller for their “Bolder and Fresher” tour.
A video preview of the tour shows the duo onstage together and separately — O’Reilly appears to be working on his stand-up chops, delivering his own brand of conservative humor.
On Saturday, DAR Constitution Hall also will feature comedian and actor Chris Tucker.
Tucker’s stand-up career spans 20 years, and more recently turned in a scene- stealing performance in the film, “Silver Linings Playbook.”
Jerry Seinfeld is in the middle of a rare tour, performing all new material. The tour won’t come to the District, but Seinfeld is scheduled to perform Saturday at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore.
Bill Maher may be in the middle of another successful season of his HBO show, “Real Time,” but he’ll be turning in a set of stand-up material at the Dupont Theatre in Wilmington, Del.
