UPDATE – Friday – 3/15/2013, 8:50pm ET
WASHINGTON – A man wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting turned himself into police, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said Friday.
D.C. police had previously said that a fugitive task force had arrested Craig Steven Wilson, who is charged with assault with intent to kill.
Lanier spoke about the case during a late afternoon press conference. She would not comment on a possible motive for the shooting.
However police are concerned about the possibility of a retaliation shooting, Lanier said.
“I have a lot of things in the works over the weekend and will remain in the works until we feel like we’ve brought this to a close,” she said.
But she wouldn’t say if that meant that more officers would be on patrol in the area, which is near a popular night club.
Police have recovered both vehicles caught in surveillance footage of the shooting. But they continue to search for Andrew Allen.
“He is a person that we believe has information. We need to talk to him,” Lanier said.
