WASHINGTON – The replacement for Anne Arundel County executive John Leopold’s term has been chosen tonight.
Multiple sources report Laura Neuman will serve the remainder of Leopold’s term, which runs through 2014.
Neuman previously served as Howard County’s Economic Development Authority’s CEO since April 2011.
Leopold was suspended from office last month after being found guilty of two counts of misconduct for using public employees for personal and political reasons. He later resigned.
Sixteen people vied or expressed interesting in filling the spot for Leopold’s remaining term including acting County Executive John Hammond and Anne Arundel County Delegate Steve Schuh.
