WASHINGTON – The gun control debate caused a wild scene Thursday in Virginia’s House of Delegates.
The Washington Examiner reports Delegate Joe Morrissey (D-Henrico) took out an AK-47 on the House floor and pleaded his case for tougher laws.
House Republicans were not amused, and one urged him to take his finger off the trigger.
A House subcommittee effectively killed a bill from Morrissey, the Examiner says, which would have banned assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
The same subcommittee also rejected universal background checks.
