WASHINGTON – A group of about 60 protesters bearing anarchist-type pamphlets damaged businesses in downtown D.C. — including a bank and a Hooters restaurant — late Sunday and early Monday morning, D.C. police say.
WJLA reports the damage occurred in the area of the 700 through the 900 blocks of Seventh Street in Northwest. Police say a DVA Federal Credit Union ATM had its front screen smashed and the window of a TD Bank was smashed, with yellow paint thrown on a side window.
A Hooters restaurant also had a window smashed out by a man wearing a mask.
WJLA says the group dropped pamphlets near the TD Bank with the slogan, “”Against Every Cop. Against Every Boss. Against Every President.”
Police had not made any arrests but were investigating the incidents.
