WASHINGTON – The mayors of D.C. and Seattle have a friendly bet going over Sunday’s Redskins-Seahawks game.
“We’re ready. We’re loaded for bear,” D.C. Mayor Vince Gray tells Channel 5.
Gray is counting on the Redskins winning. D.C.’s flag will fly at Seattle’s city hall, if the team wins.
Gray sees a win as a way to promote the District’s “taxation without representation” status in Congress.
If the Redskins lose, Seattle’s flag will fly at the Wilson Building.
“It’s going to be awful nice to see that Seattle flag flying in D.C.,” Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn says in the same interview.
