WASHINGTON – The newest casino in the D.C. area is making changes that could mean more jobs for D.C. area residents.
Maryland Live Casino at Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Md., will kick off its first 24-hour gaming day on Dec. 27, just two days after Christmas. They’re also prepping to add roulette, blackjack, baccarat and Poker to the floor.
Management says they plan to introduce 150 new table games as soon as possible after the state issues the necessary government regulations.
All of this means more employees at the casino. Starting in January, the casino will launch a free dealer school to train new dealers, in conjunction with Anne Arundel Community College.
The casino expects to hire 1,200 new employees, including 800 dealers. They are accepting applications online through the end of the year.
