WASHINGTON – Some neighbors aren’t happy about the new ballpark planned for Loudoun County.
The Loudoun Hounds’ new stadium is slated to be built in Ashburn as part of the One Loudoun mixed-use development.
Residents of the Potomac Green community, which is very close to the planned stadium, tell the Loudoun Times that many neighbors oppose the plans.
The 55 and older community had another meeting earlier this month with representatives of the teams and One Loudoun developers. Residents say most of the people there were skeptical that the stadium wouldn’t increase traffic on Route 7 and expressed concern about potential parking, noise and security issues.
The team also plans to host a second-tier men’s pro soccer team in the stadium. The Hounds will play in the independent Atlantic League, while the yet-to-be-named soccer team will play in the NASL.
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors would have to approve the plans in order for the stadium to be built.
