WASHINGTON – The holiday commercials have started and pretty soon decorations will be going up for the season, but another thing that goes up this time of year is crime.
Lots of times when things get stolen it’s a crime of opportunity, and local police say the holiday season presents lots of opportunities for crooks.
One thing police see a lot of this time of year is theft of packages. Delivery employees are swamped with work, and that means lots of unattended boxes on doorsteps.
Here are a few ways to protect your packages and avoid the Grinch:
