WASHINGTON – D.C. police have started using a new tactic to get information on cold cases –YouTube videos.
The videos, produced by the Cold Case Squad, highlight three murder cases dating back to 2006 and include pleas from family members asking for leads.
Police are hoping someone will see the videos and come forward with information.
The videos involve these three cases:
- May 2006: Homicide of 35-year-old Marcus Johnson, who was fatally shot in the 1400 block of First Street, NW
- April 2008: Homicide of 30-year-old Melvin Seals, who was fatally shot in the 1200 block of Morse Street, NE <>
- October 2010: Missing person, 24-year-old Unique Harris, who was last seen at her home in the 2400 block of Hartford Street, SE
Police are hoping someone will see the videos and come forward with information. They are offering up to a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest or conviction.
