WASHINGTON – A candlelight vigil was held Wednesday night for the family found dead in their Herndon home Tuesday.
The vigil took place at Floris United Methodist Church in Herndon. More than 500 people were in attendance.
“It’s tempting to make the tragedy to whole story, and it’s tempting to say tragedy is all there is,” one man said at the service.
On Tuesday, Fairfax County officers found the bodies of 57-year-old Albert Peterson, his wife Kathleen, 52, and their two sons, 13-year-old Christopher and 16-year-old Matthew in their home after doing a welfare check.
Police are classifying the deaths as a murder-suicide.
