WASHINGTON – Soon, Facebook stalking may be a thing of the past.
Changes being implemented by Facebook may make users think twice before searching for their ex or their newest crush.
Facebook on Friday announced it will now begin showing a list of users’ searches as part of their “Activity Log.”
That log is only supposed to be available to users, but Facebook and founder Mark Zuckerberg have indicated they are looking to make more money off the search function to better compete with companies like Google.
Google is among the companies that return different search results, based on the past actions of the person searching and the web presence of their connections.
Facebook reports it processes about 1 billion search requests each day.
The new feature is scheduled to roll out over the next few weeks.
