WASHINGON – The procession for a local Navy SEAL will take place Monday in Anne Arundel County, and the community is encouraged to show support.
Special Warfare Operator Petty Officer 1st Class Patrick D. Feeks, 28, died on Aug. 16 when his helicopter was down during a firefight with insurgents in Afghanistan.
The procession carrying Feeks’ body will leave Dover Air Force Base in Delaware at 8 a.m. and end in Edgewater, Md. at George P. Kalas Funeral Home at 2973 Solomons Island Road.
Area residents are encouraged to pay respects by waving American flags as the procession passes through their area.
The procession, conducted by the Patriot Guard, is expected to make its way from Route 50 to Route 2 in Annapolis between 9:30 and 10 a.m.
There will be a viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 12:45 p.m. at Fort Myer Memorial Chapel near Arlington National Cemetery, where Feeks will be buried.
