WASHINGTON – Apple could charge $800 for the iPhone 5.
But it probably won’t. That didn’t stop the “Twittersphere” from blowing up the topic on Thursday with two trending terms: #800DollarsForAniPhone and “iPhone 5 $800.”
It’s unclear precisely where this rumor came from, but Mashable.com reports two websites found a Chinese auction site that listed the new gadget for that price. The most expensive prior model is the $399 iPhone 4S with 64 gigabyte of memory and a wireless plan.
