ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) – Funeral services are scheduled for one of two teens killed in a train derailment in Maryland’s Ellicott City.
A memorial Mass for Elizabeth Conway Nass, a student at James Madison University in Virginia, is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Resurrection. The church is at 3155 Paulskirk Drive in Ellicott City.
Nass, 19, and her friend Rose Louese Mayr, also 19 and a nursing student at the University of Delaware, were killed earlier this week when a train carrying coal derailed. Authorities say the two women were sitting on one side of a train bridge and were buried in coal when the train derailed.
Services for Mayr will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany United Methodist Church at 2875 Bethany Lane in Ellicott City.
Both graduated from Mt. Hebron High School in Ellicott City.
Nass’ family has set up a scholarship fund in her honor.
