WASHINGTON – A Prince George’s County police officer is recovering after being shot in the leg early Saturday morning.
She is the fifth officer in 18 months to be involved in a shooting, officials say.
The officer was off-duty and working security at Galaxy nightclub on University Boulevard in Hyattsville when she kicked out three adults from the venue.
The customers retreated to the parking lot, and then shortly after drove a car slowly past the entrance of the club and shot the officer.
Other officials at the scene returned fire and chased down the suspects. One man and two women were arrested.
