WASHINGTON – There’s a new way to keep cool and some might think it’s hot.
Japanese firm Triumph has unveiled the “Ice Bra,” a ladies’ undergarment with built-in gel ice packs. And, with the record-breaking temperatures last summer, the new garment may come in handy.
Toshiko Masuda, a spokeswoman for Triumph, says the idea originally came about after the Fukushima crisis. The entire nation is expected to have a shortage of electricity, and the company wants to help find ways to keep cool while conserving energy.
“Companies and families now have to deal with higher electricity bills,” Masuda told Odisha Today, “So we decided on this theme as we felt we had to increase awareness of saving electricity.”
But while the feminine support device has a practical idea behind it, the makers haven’t sacrificed design. Each cup looks like a fish tank, it comes with a tiny fan and there’s even a sprig of mint attached.
Now, if only it had pockets.
