WASHINGTON – Forget “The Tebow.” The Redskins’ new hot quarterback isn’t wasting any time developing his trademark move.
For Robert Griffin III, however, it will be protected by law.
Before taking a single snap on the Landover gridiron, Griffin hired an attorney, established his own company, Thr3escompany, LLC, and is waiting to hear back from the U.S. patent office on four trademarks: RGIII, RG3, Robert Griffin III and Unbelievably Believable, The Washington Post reports.
The first three trademark filings were for “shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, pants, shorts, footwear, hats, caps, athletic uniforms,” according to ChangeLegal.com.
Griffin, who will start from day one of the upcoming season, apparently wasn’t satisfied by the Subway sandwich artwork he received or the hot dog named after him at a Capitol Hill joint:
