WASHINGTON – A new report on homelessness in the D.C. metro area shows, overall, the number of people on the streets is unchanged. However, when broken down, the numbers tell another story.
There are still about 12,000 homeless people in the DMV, but in D.C. proper homelessness is actually up 18 percent.
In Loudoun County the number increased 5 percent and there was also a slight uptake in Frederick County.
But in Prince William and Prince George’s counties there was a decrease of 17 percent, as well as a decrease in Montgomery County and Alexandria.
