WASHINGTON – A second person has been arrested in the videotaped beating of a man on St. Patrick’s Day in downtown Baltimore.
Baltimore police say Shayona Davis, 20, was arrested for her involvement in the assault.
Aaron Parsons, the first person to be arrested, turned himself in to police April 15. Parsons was charged with assault, robbery and other crimes.
Police have said they are not investigating the incident as a hate crime.
The beating was captured on cellphone video and went viral across the country. In the video, a crowd laughs as the victim is punched in the face. The crowd then strips him naked and takes his belongings, including his car keys, watch and phone.
Police say the video has helped them find the suspects they’ve arrested. They are still searching for two additional suspects — Deangelo Carter, an 18-year-old black male, and Shatia Baldwin, a 21-year-old black female.
