WASHINGTON – It’s nowhere near as a big as the Mega Millions jackpot, but a Mechanicsville man has won more than $1 million from the Maryland lottery.
The Maryland Lottery says the 41-year-old man has chosen to stay anonymous. He matched all six numbers on the $1.9 million jackpot of the Multi-Match ticket on March 29, and chose the cash option of $1.35 million. He used the quick pick option to win.
The winner says he will pay bills, pay off their home, save for their children’s college fund and take a short vacation in Hawaii.
The winning ticket was bought at Boatman’s Mini Mart in Mechanicsville, Md.
As for the winning Mega Millions ticket bought in Maryland — it’s still not clear if Marlinde Wilson really bought it or not.
The Maryland Lottery says no winner has come forward, and Wilson now claims she’s lost the ticket.
