WASHINGTON — A rule is changing that’s been around since the invention of the wheel.
The steering wheel, that is.
Keeping hands at “10 and 2” is no longer the rule of thumb, says AAA as well as the MSNBC reports, range from breaking a finger to losing a hand. In some cases, hands can fly back into a driver’s face, running the risk of a broken nose or concussion.
Time isn’t the only change when it comes to steering. New information also suggests that placing one hand over the other while turning is no longer the best method. Instead of crossing hands when changing directions, drivers should push and pull the wheel.
